BIG ONE 9 ANNOUNCEMENT

These past few months have been unpredictable in many ways but we’ve always hoped that we could go ahead with our annual three-day festival in November and hung on to the very latest moment to bring this event to you.
However, in light of the recent announcement by the UK Government to reintroduce limits on social gatherings this decision has been taken out of our hands. For that reason, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel The Big One 9 Festival scheduled for 6th, 7th and 8th of November 2020. While we know this is disappointing, we hope you can understand that this decision is based on our legal obligation to comply with the government’s directives. As well as our own duty of care to our attendees, Specialized team and the venue staff.
We would have lost the stalls area and the lounge would have been somewhat a no go area. Tables in the main arena would have reduced capacity and that would be very detrimental to the event. One way system’s, sanitisation etc… It would be impossible to police with everything what we need to do on a normal occasion.
THE DATE FOR NEXT YEARS EVENT 5/6/7 NOVEMBER 2021 AND WILL BE A BIG PARTY AS WE CELEBRATE 10 YEARS.

What happens next?
Parkdean Resorts will be offering the following- –
1.full refunds for those that require them.
2. Moving monies paid onto next year’s event for customers wishing this to happen.
3.Offering stays at the Park over the weekend originally booked as it is open and some may want to continue a short break away.

It is important that we remain positive for the future so The Specialized Project will continue in its other activities and we hope for your continued support and kindness. We still plan to release this years tribute album ‘Blockbuster a to Glam Rock’. Over the weekend of 7th & 8th of November we’ll be producing possibly the largest virtual festival of the year. We hope that in some small way that will offer a chance for the ska community to come together online to enjoy good music, company and support our charitable causes.

Specialized is changing. Come along and enjoy the ride.
