How to be a part of our live events
Since our first tour in 2011 The Specialized Project has promoted live music and assisted fundraising across the globe. If you’d like to discuss future events, then we’re particularly interested in talking to promoters and fundraisers as well as performers interested in streamed events
The Big One Festival
Our flagship event is now in its ninth year and is held on the second weekend of November at Sandford Holiday Park in Dorset.
The event runs two stages over three days and includes international and regional acts. The next Big One Festival is 6th 7th and 8th of November. We welcome requests to play at the event, but spaces are limited. We particularly encourage original bands so that we can promote the best original talent in the UK ska scene
Specialive
Specialive arranges regional gigs throughout the UK. The gigs are fundraisers for our charities. We encourage local promoters to set up gigs on our behalf. The events can be as simple as a single band are as large as bank holiday all-dayers. We currently have annual regional events in Devon, Berkshire and Durham and hope to add to those. In 2021 we intend to increase the amount of our regional gigs as part of our tenth anniversary celebrations.
Streamed Events
The COVID-19 pandemic has had some unexpected consequences, one of them being the sudden growth of live streaming as a way to connect performers and audiences during the period of physical distancing.
We’re now expecting to add a regular program of streamed performances as a regular part of our activities
International gigs
After the success of Specialoz’d in Australia we’ve assisted in events across the globe including Japan, America and Germany. In 2021 we’ll see the first Specialzed Festival in South America and we’re very keen to talk to promoters across the globe about future events
Fundraising Events
From skittles nights to discos, from sponsored runs to endurance hiking. Specialized followers have arranged a bewildering variety of fundraising activities to help the charities we support. We welcome all suggestions for fundraising and will support in every way that we can
